Amitywell team and mission

About Amitywell

A steady hand during times of household change

We set out to create a place where families could slow down, gather the right information, and move forward with a little more clarity. That is still what we do.

Our Story

How Amitywell came to be

Amitywell was founded in Phuket in 2019 by a small group of facilitators and administrative professionals who kept noticing the same gap. Families in the middle of significant household changes — separations, relocations, estate reorganisation — were arriving at lawyers, mediators, and government offices unprepared. Not because they lacked intelligence or care, but because no one had sat with them beforehand to explain how things generally work, to help them write down what they owned and owed, or to show them how to listen to each other under pressure.

The name comes from the idea of goodwill and mutual respect — amity — combining with the notion of wellbeing. Those two things together, we felt, described what families most need when they are navigating change: a sense that they are being treated with care and that their practical wellbeing matters.

We are not a law firm, a counselling service, or a financial practice. We are an educational and administrative resource. Everything we offer is designed to help people think more clearly, communicate a little more calmly, and arrive at the next step better organised than they were before.

Our Mission

What we are here to do

Orientation before action

We help families understand the landscape of their situation before they take formal steps. Information first, process second.

Communication as a skill

Listening and articulating needs clearly are not instincts during stress — they are skills. We teach them in a calm, non-pressuring setting.

Practical organisation

Having documents in order and a shared picture of household matters reduces friction enormously. Our toolkit is built around that simple truth.

Clear scope, always

We are deliberate about what we are and what we are not. We refer participants to the right professionals whenever their questions go beyond our remit.

How We Work

Our standards and approach

Participant Privacy

All information shared by participants in workshops and courses is treated with strict confidentiality. We never share personal details with third parties without explicit consent.

Facilitator Standards

Every facilitator completes our internal preparation programme before leading sessions. Standards cover communication skills, scope awareness, and cultural sensitivity.

Material Accuracy

All written resources — templates, checklists, and course materials — are reviewed periodically to ensure they remain accurate, accessible, and free of outdated information.

Feedback Loops

Participants are invited to share structured feedback at the end of each workshop and course. We use this regularly to refine content and delivery.

Scope Clarity

We are careful and consistent about what our services include and exclude. When participants raise matters that require professional advice, we acknowledge this clearly and signpost appropriate resources.

Cultural Awareness

Phuket's international community brings many different backgrounds into the same room. Our materials and sessions are designed with that diversity in mind, avoiding assumptions about family structure or background.

Our Values

What shapes every session and every page of every toolkit

Family transitions are common — separation, estate reorganisation, a household move across borders — but they rarely feel ordinary to the people inside them. The practical side alone — organising shared finances, understanding what documents are needed, figuring out how decisions get made — takes energy that people often do not have to spare when they are also managing the emotional side of change.

Amitywell exists to take some of that weight off. Not by doing things for families, but by helping them understand what needs doing, in what order, and with what tools. A well-organised household, a clear shared record of assets and responsibilities, and two people who know how to listen to each other without the conversation derailing — these are modest goals that make a very large practical difference.

Our approach is calm and measured because the people we work with are often already managing a great deal. We do not use urgency as a sales tool. We do not promise outcomes. We do not frame our workshops as transformative experiences. What we offer is simply good-quality educational material, delivered clearly, by people who have taken the time to understand how these processes generally work in Thailand and who are honest about the limits of what we can tell you.

Families who spend time with Amitywell leave knowing more than they did before — about the processes ahead, about how to communicate during them, and about where to turn when they need professional help. That, we have found, is genuinely useful.
